Pet Toys

Pet toys may seem like a useless commodity, but they are not. They are actually instrumental in preventing many animals’ self destructive behaviors. Behaviors like a bird plucking its own feathers, a cat shredding your curtains, or a dog getting into the garbage and throwing it all around the house can all be prevented. Primary triggers for these behaviors are stress and boredom.

Most pets are social animals, and they benefit from your company, as well as the company of other animals. When they are left alone with nothing to do, the problem behaviors start. That is where pet toys come in. If you give your dog a rawhide chew toy, it won’t feel the need to dig through the trash; it’s got something better to chew on right there in front of it!

The same goes for cats and birds. If you give a cat a scratching post, it has a far better option for exercising than your curtains or upholstery. If you give a bird a puzzle toy with a treat inside, it will have something to apply its mind to, which will prevent it from being so bored it starts plucking feathers.
